January 2015-Chicago based AeroStar Global Logistics Inc. a specialty
global transportation and logistics provider for the aerospace industry
announces the opening of its new European office located Colomiers,
France, one of the most influential aerospace hubs.
AeroStar
Global Logistics Europe SAS will further enhance, and strengthen
AeroStar’s service capabilities for its existing and future global
customers.

commitment to the Aerospace industry”, said Serge Bernard, President of
AGLE.“
General
Manager of AGLE and 17 year veteran in the aerospace industry
specializing in cabin interiors Eric Figarol, states, “Our presence here
recognizes that new and existing customers benefit from local
partnership driven support to compliment our global services.”
Eric Figarol
holds a BTS (Brevet Technicien Supérieur) of Industrial Maintenance
from Lycée Jean Dupuy in Tarbes (65-France). Eric began working for few
months as technician for an industrial bakery in Toulouse (31-France)
taking care of the machine (95) maintenance operations.
In 1997, he entered the aerospace world for a 2 week contract as mechanic. This contract was extended to 3 years (till 2000).
In
2003, Eric decided to move to Hamburg (Germany) as Zodiac Aerospace
Field Rep for a 9 month period in order to support all Zodiac products
such as Seats, Emergency Slides, life vest, etc… at the Airbus facility.
In 2004, Eric became the Weber Aircraft (US seat manufacture) Rep to support this company for brand new aircraft deliveries.
Eric
continued to supervise the Hamburg activity in parallel with the Weber
Aircraft Support in Toulouse and met the AeroStar leaders in 2006 during
the International Expo in Hamburg.
In
2009, Eric has been elected Manager of the new « Zodiac Seats branch »
which is the result of the merger between Weber Aircraft (US), Sicma
Aero Seat (FR), and Contour (UK). Leading a 22 person team, Eric learned
a lot about human relationships, team organization, and Aerospace
business with Airbus.
Eric
moved in 2013 in a new role, as Zodiac Seats Customer Support for
Europe and Africa regions. He was in charge of all Embraer Aircrafts
flying Zodiac Seats in its area. In 2014, and after 17 years in the same
company, Eric felt the need to get new challenges, new opportunities,
and new things to learn.
Eric
joined the AeroStar family and, set up with AeroStar Global leaders,
the brand new AGLE (AeroStar Global Logistics Europe) company, based in
Colomiers, very close to Airbus facility. The place to be if you want to
do some business in the aerospace world.
Serge Bernard,
an expert in international services and a 22 year veteran in the
international transportation and aerospace industry. Bernard is
currently the Sr. VP of International Services for AeroStar Global
Logistics, Inc. a trusted, experienced solution-driven company. AeroStar
provides a full spectrum of international and domestic shipping
services that include: air, ocean, trucking and rail; plus logistic
services that encompass global warehousing and fulfillment programs.
Serge
Bernard was born and raised in French Alps of Grenoble, France. In 1990
Serge and his family departed to the United States to reside in
Chicago, IL. While attending college at Northern Illinois University
where he would received his degree. In 1992 Serge started working for
Concord Express as their import coordinate and handled their import
customs brokerage. In 1996 he left the company and continued working in
the logistics industry doing sales in import and exports for Phoenix
International.
After
2 years at Phoenix International he would go on to working for Air Sea
Forwarder as the their District Manager for the entire Midwest
consisting of 18 states.
In
May of 2002, Air Sea Forwarder would eventually become AeroStar Global
Logistics, Inc where Serge would take the position as their Director of
International Services. In 2010 Serge would become Sr. VP of
International Services. With 20 plus years of expertise in the
International transportation industry Bernard would continue to
Colomiers, France where he was appointed as the President of AeroStar
Global Logistics, Europe SAS.
